Muskets & Magic Rank the loading card, not the flag
Ignia and Zemliya own grass. Sitari owns stairs. Descendants of Death own trees.
There is no single strongest nation in Muskets & Magic. Nanoplex Studio built four factions for this Roblox team PvP shooter and then put them on maps that refuse to be fair to everyone. Early access on PC, mobile, and console already makes that obvious. Crowns buy a tabard. The vote buys the matchup. This list is playtest-informed and will move the first time a glove, a Sklirite plate, or a forest sightline is retuned.
Read the maps guide for the pool and modes. Read the factions overview for mottos and schools. Read the class tier list so you do not blame Ignia for a missing Ensign. Then use the pairing ranks below as a veto, not a personality test.
The short version
Musket factions win open fields. Empire of Ignia and Kingdom of Zemliya bring flintlocks, Officer range, and a Mage who can punish still bodies. Little Green and Prok’s Glade are their house. Sitari that walks into that house like Knights on a parade ground donates tickets. Descendants of Death that reload stolen muskets on the skyline donate lives.
Sitari wins close melee and manor geometry. Sklirite, shields, greatswords, bows in lanes, Staff of Light on peaks. Wickland Manor is the advertisement. Remnants interiors can also sing. Open grass is where the million-strong army looks like 3.3 million people who forgot why they left the islands.
Descendants of Death win forest and ambush maps. Stolen firearms, Werewolves, Trappers, Necromancer, brush. Final Stand is the advertisement. Remnants ruins are a second home. A ticket field with long sightlines is where undead look like a costume party.
That is the whole faction tier list. Everything else is a map card.
Little Green and Prok’s Glade: musket S, everyone else C
Ignia versus Zemliya, Ticket Deathmatch, 100 tickets. Mirror match. Faction rank here is a tie going into spawn, then a class test. Fire versus Earth is a school argument, not a nation stomp. The team that keeps flag and medic alive wins. The team that charges like Sitari loses.
If a non-lore scramble drops Sitari or Descendants of Death onto these fields, they are C until they force hedges and rooms. Bows and stolen muskets can still snipe. They cannot win a polite volley contest against people who practice polite volleys for a living.
Vote these maps when you want the Napoleonic photograph. Do not vote them to “prove Sitari is bad.” You only proved you picked a lawn.
Final Stand: Descendants of Death S, Ignia B
Descendants of Death versus Empire of Ignia, Deathmatch, one life. Forest, last-stand geometry, no ticket reprint. DoD wants fog, flanks, Trapper denial, Necromancer pressure, Cultists who reload in brush. Ignia wants a volley lane that the trees keep interrupting.
Ignia is not unplayable. Officer auras still help. Fire still punishes a clump. Line Infantry still wins any space that looks like a road. They are B because the map is not a road. Grenadiers who chase Werewolves into timber are C-tier decision making on an S-tier map for the other flag.
One life means S-tier classes from the other list still matter and cannot reprint you. Do not hide an Ensign in a tree that nobody can reach. Do not take Sapper unless you are blocking a real choke.
Remnants: even, then whoever blinks
Descendants of Death versus Sitari, Deathmatch. Two non-standard armies. No Ignian drum to hide behind. Faction rank starts even. Sitari wants to close and chop with Sklirite. DoD wants the first ambush and stolen flint on peaks. Light Mage beams punish ruin peekers. Necromancer punishes people who walk alone. Knights who charge a courtyard they have not seen are content.
If the ruins play like a manor, Sitari edges up. If they play like a forest with extra walls, DoD edges up. The maps guide is where the layout lives; this page only ranks the pairing. Bring melee literacy. Bring a medic even without tickets. Do not bring Little Green habits.
Wickland Manor: Sitari S, Ignia B with a Sapper clause
Sitari versus Ignia, Attack Defense. Capture points, a clock, interiors. Sitari is S because the house is a melee argument and they brought swords. Ignia is B if they keep the lawn and the windows, A if their Sapper owns doors, C if they try to volley a dining room.
Engineers and Sappers decide the tier more than Knights and Grenadiers, which is saying something, because those melee breaks are why the manor feels unfair to musket mains. Doctors on landings. Light Mages on stair peaks. Ignian pistols in hallways. Earth is not here unless a scramble made a mess; Fire is, and Fire wants clumps on landings, not a solo kitchen tour.
Vote Wickland when you want to see whether Sitari’s Grand Conquest thesis works. Vote it every time if you only play Engineer, then do not be shocked when musket friends are tired of furniture.
How class ranks cut across nations
Faction tiers do not replace the class tier list. A Sitari team with no Standard Bearer still leaks. An Ignia team with no Healer still leaks. DoD with no Skeleton Officer still feeds in ones. Nation bonus is geometry. Class bonus is the spawn screen.
Translation when you swap flags:
- Ensign job stays S on ticket maps for every colour.
- Sapper job jumps on Wickland for both Sitari and Ignia.
- Mage job depends on school, which depends on nation, which is why the mage list exists.
- Line Infantry job stays B for musket nations and becomes Lineman bulk for Sitari. Skipping bulk still loses.
If you are losing and the nation rank said you should be happy, look at empty S-tier class slots before you type “faction is trash” in white chat you do not even have because you queued Rifleman.
Voting without griefing strangers
Public servers mix people who came for muskets with people who came for werewolves. The vote is the faction tier list in motion.
If the last round was Little Green, consider Final Stand or Wickland so the other kits get a map. If the last three rounds were manor, consider a field so Sitari mains have to prove they can also play a bow. If you only ever veto forests, you are ranking your comfort, not the game.
Non-lore battles scramble pairings after a lore battle. That is when Zemliya versus Sitari on Prok’s Glade happens and the short version of this page gets a footnote. Play the geometry you were given, not the lore pair you wanted.
What will move these ranks
Thicker Sklirite moves Sitari up on fields. Weaker Sklirite locks them in the manor. Stolen musket accuracy moves DoD up on grass. A new open map added to the pool cements Ignia and Zemliya. A new interior map cements Sitari. A new forest cements the undead. Mage retunes move the musket mirror because Fire versus Earth is the only thing that separates the two flintlock nations besides hats.
Until Nanoplex ships that patch, rank the loading card. Musket nations on open fields. Sitari on close melee and manor. Descendants of Death on forest ambush maps. Then go fill an Ensign slot so the nation you just picked can actually use the geometry it was issued. Early access faction arguments that ignore the map are just colour theory, and this shooter already has enough flags.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Muskets & Magic players.
Is one faction the best in early access?
No. Ignia and Zemliya are strongest on open ticket fields. Sitari is strongest in close melee and Wickland Manor. Descendants of Death are strongest on forest ambush maps like Final Stand.
Why do Sitari players call muskets overpowered?
They probably just played Little Green. The Theocracy is not built for polite volleys. Queue Wickland or Remnants before you write off Sklirite.
Why do Ignia players call Sitari overpowered?
They probably just played Wickland Manor. Interiors punish reload animations. Bring a Sapper, pistols, and grenadiers, or vote a field.
Do lore pairings always apply?
Voted maps are lore battles. Non-lore scrambles can pair unusual nations on the same geometry. Play the terrain you got.
Should I pick a faction for the mage school?
You can, but the map still vetoes you. Earth on a field is real. Earth in a closet is a dash button. Read factions and maps together.
