Muskets & Magic Healer and Surgeon
Keep the rank standing. Bandage the living, not the highlight reel.
A Healer (Surgeon on Ignia and Zemliya cards, Doctor on Sitari) is one of the most important bodies on a Muskets & Magic team. Nanoplex Studio’s official showcase is blunt: you keep combatants alive and fighting. The kit is meant to be simple. Bandage in hand, sabre for anyone who walks into your radius, passive area healing, and a self-heal to full that other classes do not get. That last point is easy to miss. You are the only kit that can top yourself off without a teammate. Use it. A dead Surgeon prints tickets for the other colour.
This page assumes you already know how a round is won. If you have not spawned as Line Infantry yet, start with Getting Started. Healing a rank that does not exist is a hobby, not a role. Early access still iterates on numbers. Treat ranges and timings as playtest notes, then trust the live highlight colours on nearby allies.
What the showcase actually shows
The official clip splits into two beats: Healing, then Intricacies of Healing. When you draw the bandage, nearby teammates highlight. Community notes from the showcase era describe a simple read: red-ish means they need you, healthier allies read greener. You are not guessing HP from a tiny bar across Little Green. You are looking at the people already in your pocket.
The development line is “simple yet intuitive.” Do not invent a Mercy beam from another game. Walk to the wounded Grenadier, bandage, and stay inside the clump that is still shooting. Passive AOE healing is a radius, not a map aura. If you hide in a Prok’s Glade cellar while the line dies on the road, you are a spectator with a medical bag.
You also have a sabre. You did not take an oath of passivity. The class text says Surgeons will draw steel on anyone who gets too close. That is a last resort. Empty stamina in a duel against a Sitari Heavy is how Medical License never completes. Let Line Infantry shoot. You bandage.
Where to stand
Ticket Deathmatch (Little Green, Prok’s Glade) is the Healer’s real classroom. Each respawn costs a ticket. A bandage that keeps a Grenadier on a hedge for thirty extra seconds is worth more than a musket peek you personally wanted. Stand one step behind the volley, not in it. If a Flag Bearer is up, share their cover. Flag plus Surgeon is the most annoying two-stack in the mode: stamina, respawns, and HP in one hay bale. Do not both stand in the open.
Deathmatch (Final Stand, Remnants) is one life. You cannot reprint a corpse. Play greedier with your own HP and stingier with peeks. Self-heal between contacts. If the last three teammates are in a ruin, you are in that ruin, not farming a flank for a sabre kill.
Attack Defense on Wickland Manor wants a Doctor on the point your team still holds. Attackers: heal the people going through the door, not the Rifleman still on the lawn. Defenders: sit behind the Sapper platform. When the point falls, walk. Healing a lost courtyard is charity for the other team.
Who you heal first
Priority is not “whoever pinged.” Priority is whoever is still holding space.
- Grenadiers and Sitari Heavies in a melee they are winning. They have the HP pool; you keep it.
- Flag Bearer if the colour is under pressure. Losing the aura is worse than losing one Rifleman.
- Officers who are actually in the rank, not the ones pistol-peeking a skyline.
- Line Infantry clumps. One bandage in a volley line is a multiplier.
- Mages only if they are behind the line. A Fire Mage who 1v1s in the road is not your emergency. Read How to Play Mage so you know when they are doing their job.
Do not chase a lone Rifleman into a field. If they wanted a Healer, they should have stood near the bags.
Self-heal and the 10,000 HP badge
You can passively self-heal to full. Other classes cannot. After a scare, use it before the next door. A Surgeon at 20% who sprints to save a Cultist is about to donate two tickets.
The achievements list includes Medical License: heal others a total of 10,000 health. That is a long public-server grind, not a private-server cheat. Private servers do not save progress. Do the badge in populated Ticket Deathmatch where people actually take damage. Challenge cosmetics need a public server with more than 18 players. See that page before you farm empty lobbies.
Crowns and EXP still stack with the Nanoplex Studio group, weekend, Wednesday UTC, Premium, and shop boosters. The EXP boosts tool is the economy page. Healing is the round page. No public promo codes are confirmed; do not stall in the menu looking for a Codes button that is not there. Recheck codes after patches.
Sitari Doctor and Descendants of Death
Sitari’s Doctor is the same job with a medieval kit: light-guided medicine, AOE, sabre if someone closes. You are still not a Heavy. Descendants of Death field a Healer in the same eight-slot grid. The undead clump wants you in the trees they actually use, not on an Ignian lawn. Faction names change; the rule does not: bandage the people holding space.
If Mage is open and you have never healed, take Healer anyway. The class picker and the class tier list both put support near the top of Ticket Deathmatch for a reason. Early access will retune bandage range. Until then, the showcase still holds: you are the reason the line is still standing when the tickets get ugly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Muskets & Magic players.
Do I have to accept a heal as the wounded player?
The official showcase presents a simple bandage system. Community clips debate extra confirm steps. Trust the live prompt in your build, then stay still if the game asks you to.
Should a new player pick Healer first?
After one round of Getting Started as Line Infantry, yes if nobody else locked it. Ticket Deathmatch wants a Surgeon more than a fourth Officer.
Where should I stand relative to the Flag Bearer?
Share their cover, one step off the colour so you are not the same rifle pixel. Details on the Flag Bearer page.
Does healing in private servers count for Medical License?
Progress and customisation do not save on private servers. Farm achievements in public lobbies, and challenge trophies need more than 18 players.
